Good afternoon. I'm running a Windows Server 2016 install that I can't get cumulative updates to run on. I exhausted my usual routes(removing softwaredistribution, manual install, etc.) and stumbled upon this forum. I'm hoping you guys can help me get this server updating properly as it'll be a lot easier than migrating the application off of it.

I ran an SFC scan which reported no integrity violations.

I did attempt to run a DISM RestoreHealth and it returns an error of "Error: 1734 The array bounds are invalid"

Running SFCFix returns:

SUMMARY: No corruptions were detected.
AutoAnalysis:: directive completed successfully.
Successfully processed all directives.

CBS Logs attached.

Thank you very much in advance and I'm happy to provide any additional information as needed.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download
56f31e53c97da-SFCFix.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

SFCFix.txt attached. DISM ran successfully. I assume this is a good sign, but I'll wait on attempting the update until I hear from you. Thank you!
