I have 2 units of Windows Server 2012 fail Windows Updates. Have tried all methods below still fail.

wsusoffline stuck in “Determining Windows Licensing Info”

Fail to Display license information using below command:
cd %SystemRoot%\System32
cscript slmgr.vbs /dli

Manually run .msu update files from Microsoft Update Catalog
(Microsoft Update Catalog) return error "The update is not applicable to your computer".

Ran many variance of DISM such as below but cannot fix.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

I suspect the main problem is the server cannot find the correct Windows Licensing Info, thus all Windows Updates fail.

How can I fix this Windows Licensing Info problem?

I have waited for about 20 minutes (check the time stamp in log below) in "Determining Windows licensing info...", finally it runs, but with error.
I also waited for command below for very very long time, maybe also 20 minutes then it finally popups with the version number.
slmgr.vbs /dli

Ending WSUS Offline Update - Community Edition - at 22:41:49.86...

Could you please provide your CBS log which will available in the following directory:

Thank you for looking into my issue.

In the last few days, I have tried to run WSUSOffline for about 3 or 4 times. Finally it proceed with the 130 updates for roughly more than 6 hours. Then server restarted. During restart, updates failed and it automatically reverted all the updates which took roughly more than 4 hours.

After the above major processes, I tried the following with some success:
- Downloaded and successfully installed the latest security update and .net update directly from Microsoft Update Catalog (This is a good sign. Previously it does not let me install them with an error message sounds like "this update is not applicable to your computer")
- I am able to run Windows Updates successfully. (Previously this fail, that is the reason I created this topic).
- I am able to run DISM and SFC successfully. (Previously both of them cannot run.)

The remaining issue now are:
- Although DISM can run and found no error, however, I can still see a few warning in the DISM.log (Refer to attached log file)
- SFC always show error “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them” no matter how many times I run to fix the error. (Refer to attached log file)

I have attached both CBS and DISM logs which I generated just now for your reference.

Thank you very much in advance.

The server is using Selective Startup instead of Normal Startup. I think previously it has problem using Normal Startup. Not sure if this affect your troubleshooting.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Finally fixed. :-)
Thank you very much for your help and time. Appreciate it very much.
One more thing is the server cannot use Normal Startup option (as seen in my Post #11). It will revert back to Selective Startup automatically. Not sure if this will be any problem?

Your welcome, hopefully you won't have any further issues!

It shouldn't cause any issues, although, it's odd that's it's reverting back automatically. When you change it to the Normal Startup option, are you clicking Apply or just OK?
