Hi,

I found this forum looking for a solution to my SFC problems.

I've run the SPCfix and have attached the txt file.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The surest option (IMHO) is to do a upgrade repair.
2nd option delete the files/folders where the corruption exists, then run sfc /scannow to repair-replace them.
Less likely option delete all files in the %windir%\windows\winsxs\temp\pendingrenames folder and try sfc again.

Thanks for your recommendations. I have a few questions...

Is option 1 (upgrade repair) destructive to my programs and data? If not, how do I do this?
Option 2 sounds the easiest to me, it is only 4 folders that are identified as the problem ones. Do I just delete them and run sfc /scannow? This sounds too simple.

My PC is a Hewlett Packard desktop. It came with Windows 8 and I upgraded to Windows 8.1 when it came out. I don't have the original Windows install disks because that is the way they sell them, but HP did have me create a Recovery USB stick. It was created on 4/13/14 so I think it must have the Windows 8.1 files on it, but I am not sure.
