Getting the same error trying to install WMF 4 (Windows6.1-KB2819745-x64-MultiPkg.msu) or WMF 5 (Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.msu).

Event viewer gives, Windows update "Update for Windows (KB3191566)" could not be installed because of error 2147549183 "Catastrophic failure" (Command line: ""C:\windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\temp\Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.msu" ")

and Error ID: 3.

I've tried running the System Update Readiness tool. I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1, patched up-to-date.

I ran sfc /scannow which said that there were corrupt files it was unable to fix.

I have the CBS log for the WMF 5 attempted install and sfc /scannow but I can't attach them to this as there is an error saying, "my upload of 44MB exceeds the forum limit of 1.68GB".

Any help would be much appreciated.

Philip

You might want to post this in the update section of the forum https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/
because while googling your issue on the newer Windows Management Framework version, I found that it had been solved twice here.
KB3191566 installation failure on Win7
[Win7SP1 x64] Windows update fails with code 0x800b0100 / error 2148204800

One of the update experts here will probably have to look at logs and design a FRST especially for you to solve the issue.

Since the update section gets the most traffic and there aren't too many that have the expertise to solve update problems, you might have to wait a day or two before anyone responds to your thread. If no one responds in 3 days, bump your post so it doesn't get buried.
