WINDOWS KB3000850 UPDATE FAILURE

Last year I had trouble updating with KB3000850, but didn't worry too much because it was optional.
I left well alone and continued to apply every other update.

But now I see it is regarded as "important" and when I try to apply the update, I get the same old
"Failure Configuring Windows Updates - Undoing changes" routine.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 8.1, no Avast or Norton, and never had trouble updating before. I see
from the internet that lots of people seem to have difficulties with KB3000850, but for some reason
Microsoft seem to be in denial over the issue.

Any ideas please ? I would have taken action based on other similar posts, but it seems that remedies
are specific to each individual case.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

We will start of with checking to see if any corruptions appear from a SFC scan.

SFC /SCANNOW

1. Right click on the
   
   button
2. Click on Command prompt (Admin) => Press Yes on the prompt
3. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
4. Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with rest of the steps.

Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt

1. Right click on the
   
   button
2. Click on Run => Inside the run box copy and paste the following command:
   

   cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

3. Press Enter
4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please upload CBS.txt to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Also, I've read that having a Kodak printer may affect this update, and I have one. Any view on that?

So uninstalled Kodak printer software, then tried KB3000850 update again - it still fails !

Also, I've read that having a Kodak printer may affect this update, and I have one. Any view on that?

TBH, I doubt it. If I had to take a guess I will either see a corruption with MSDTC.log or CNBJ2530.DPB in your CBS log.
