Hi,
I've been having significant issues with a Windows 10 update and need some assistance. The update will download and prompt me to restart upon which the update will fail to complete and windows will revert changes. This occurrence is problematic as windows forces me to let it update every time I want to shutdown or restart then makes me wait for it to revert changes every time I boot it back up, as well as obviously not installing the updates. Here are details regarding the issue:

When I go to Windows Settings -> Update & Security -> Check for Updates, it downloads "2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-Based Systems (KB4462933)" and prompts me "restart now" to apply the update.
Upon selecting "restart now" or shutting down and booting/ restarting, Windows will install the updates as expected; however, after the computer turns back on after restarting and prior to seeing the login screen, a message appears stating, "We couldn't complete the updates undoing changes" after which Windows reverts the changes. After the changes are reverted, I am still able to login and use the computer normally; however, when I check for updates, Windows identifies and downloads the same update and prompts me to restart, repeating the process above.
When viewing update history, the update is mentioned with the message "last failed install attempt on [date] - 0x800f0922"
I tried utilizing the windows update troubleshooter but it failed to open, saying "an error occurred while trouble shooting: a problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting" then listing error code "0x80004005". I have also tried downloading and installing the update from Windows online but the same issue occurs. I also attempted to locate and repair corrupted files by running the "sfc/scannow" and "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" command in the terminal but doing so did not resolve the issue. As far as I'm aware other updates have been able to successfully install, so it appears that the problems are specific to this one update.
This is likely not relevant, but upon launch a message pops up saying, "Fatal error: Failed to execute script pyi_rth_win32comgenpy". Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks!

Hello and welcome!

Please do not run other fixes as these were customized for a particular PC.

As for your issue, please temporarily uninstall your antivirus product using its removal tool and retry updates. If you are using Windows Defender, just disabling it should suffice.

If updates fail, again, please provide CBS.log.

I will abstain from running fixes customized for other PCs. I've uninstalled my anti virus software (malwarebytes) and have temporarily disabled Windows Defender by turning off "real time protection" in the Windows Defender settings. I attempted to update several more times, all of which failed. I've attached a link to my CBS log. Thanks!

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Try updates and if any fail, attach CBS.log.

As for your error on startup, can you please locate the following file: boxsync.exe and run it in compatibility mode for Win7?

I'm still working on the reverting issue.

I was unable to locate boxsync.exe in file explorer. I first searched for it in file explorer under "This PC" then looked for it where a site online said it was supposed to be, C:\Program Files\box sync\boxsync.exe, to no avail.

DISM appears good, but updates still appear to be having issues. Windows is no longer prompting me to install update KB4462933, the original update I was having issues with, but is now unable to apply update KB4467702. This new update appears to be having the same issues as the previous (reverting changes after restarting) and displays error 0x800f0922. I have attached the DISM scan, CBS logs, and screenshots showing the update history. It seems we're heading in the right direction or, at the very least, things are not getting worse. Thanks again for your continued support.

What's your HDD configuration? Have you installed a software like TrueCrypt onto your system?

I am using a 1TB HDD and a 240GB SSD. Windows is installed on the SSD. I have also created a 4GB RAM drive using SoftPerfect RAM Disk (I have 12GB RAM remaining) where I redirected the Temp folder. I also have installed a disk partitioning/ encrypting software called VeraCrypt which seems very similar in function to the the example you gave, TrueCrypt. To the best of my knowledge, I have not made any changes with VeraCrypt; however, several weeks ago I opened it up to see how I would go about partitioning my drives but didn't actually partition them.
