When selecting some items from taskbar, for example search, sound etc, the selected window will open, but the moment I move the curser from the taskbar to select something in this window I opened it disappears before I can select or click anything in it.This happens regardless of taskbar setting. Anyone have a fix for this? Thank you.

Thank you very much for you feedback! I use a Logitech trackball connected via USB. The disappearing window phenomenon happens regardless if I use the built in mousepad or the external track pad. Please explain what is meant by mousepad sensitity settings and how to access those.

Thank you for reply and link. It takes me to a page for Windows 7 mouse settings.
I use Windows 10 with an external USB Logitech trackball.

I find nothing in mouse properties control panel concerning sensitivity.
I would also like to add that the issue of disappearing windows applies to whatever I try to access from taskbar.
For example, when I select something that is open from taskbar and want to move the pointer there, the window disappears
and/or loses focus, goes behind another open window.

Any other ideas?

The settings are almost identical on Windows 10. There's a setting called Pointer speed.

Hi ..yes there is a logitech trackball utility. i have experimented with all available options, to no avail.
and yes, I also tried various pointer speeds in mouse properties. it does not seem to make a difference concerning my issue.

for example, I click the search icon in task bar. which brings up the window with the search string input area.
the very second I move the pointer arrow from the search icon towards the input area in the open search window
this window disappears. and the same goes for other items in taskbar. they disappear or go out of focus behind another open window.

With regards to the taskbar, have you ensured that's it's pinned? If you right-click on a empty section of the task bar, in the context menu, there should be an option called "Lock the taskbar". Please ensure that the option has a tick next to it.

Hi BlueRobot, awesome. the highlighted box in the ease of access had a checkmark in it.
after unchecking it seems the issue is far less present, subject to further testing.
and yes, the taskbar has been locked. Many thanks for now. If the issue re-appears I will advise.

🤩 KUDOS and congratulations x BlueRobot !! Still OK, even after reboot. I think we did it.
You helped to make my day. Now I can actually use my machine without the constant frustration about disappearing windows.
What a difference a little checkmark can make ... :)

AWESOME!!(y):coffee:
