Good afternoon, all! This is my first post, and I am really at a loss. I have an HP ENVY dv6 with Windows 8.1 currently. For the last couple weeks, my computer has been restarting every day to install updates, only to have them fail, and then the changes undone. I have attempted restarting the computer multiple times to no avail, as well as manually installing updates with the firewall disabled (which also didn't work).
After doing a little digging online, it appears I am not the only individual experiencing this problem. After looking through other threads and posts, I attempted registering a .dll ('regsvr32 qmgr.dll') which yielded an error message saying "The module "qmgr.dll" was loaded, but the entry-point DllRegisterService not found. After running SFC Scannow, it came back that it couldn't fix the corrupt files. I then downloaded and ran SFCFix.exe, which found no corrupt files.
I am at a complete loss here, and would appreciate any input. Anyone else experience this before? Thanks in advance!
