[SOLVED] windows 8.1 update error code 800700A1 (KB3000850)

Hi,

thanks in advance for your assistance.
I am unable to install the update KB3000850 in windows 8.1
and keep receiving the error code 800700A1.
Following the instruction in the forum, I attach the CBS.zip file that I have produced accordingly.
I hope that you could help me in solving the issue. SFCFix text follows.

I have posted the CBS zipped folder using the SFCFix.exe / SFCFixScript.txt method
as instructed at https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html
more than an hour ago yet I cannot see the CBS zip file attached to my message.
Please advise if it is not visible to the site administrators. Thanks!

Thanks. Please try the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Step#2 - SFC Scan
1. Right-click on the Start

button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread

It doesn't appear that you did Step#1 correctly. You want to ensure that you drag the SFCFix.zip over the top of SFCFix.exe and then let go of the mouse.
