I keep getting an error 800703F1, and after having done some research, and nothing working, I cam across the two threads below that may help filter out the issue. I have also attached my DISM which says my register is corrupt, and my CBS log as well. https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/9458-windows-8-update-error-800703f1.html https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...fix-windows-update-error-code-0x80073712.html One thing I found is that I have no COMPONENTS reg directory, at all, which could be a huge part of my problem. Below is my C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS compressed into a zip file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B56iU3n00jQgZldLS1BWTWlGbm8/view?usp=sharing I'd greatly appreciate any help! Please do the following. 1. Download and run ShadowExplorer and let me know how far back your restore points go. As shown below, mine only go back to 5/31.

If it comes down to it I can do a clean install, and it wouldn't make much of a difference. I am just trying to fix my update system so that I can update to Windows 10 upon release.

I'm really sorry we couldn't do more. My suggestion is going to be to ensure you back up your data and then do a fresh install.
