Windows 8.1 update error 800703f1

I originally noticed a problem trying to install some software. error 1935 appeared and i tried some posted easy fixes. Did not work.
This lead me to notice that my windows never updated the .net framework. In tracking down the updates, i noticed that windows had not updated for ~ 2 months, since a failed attempt with error code 800703F1.

I am following the instructions given in the "how to fix update error code 0x80073712" thread. I have run Regbak and uploaded the components file to onedrive. link: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=293952f6b040a3a8

Hello and welcome to the forum.

SFC /SCANNOW
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Command prompt (Admin) => Press Yes on the prompt
  3. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  4. Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Run => Inside the run box copy and paste the following command:
    Code: 
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  3. Press Enter
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please upload CBS.txt to this thread

The error is with loading the hive, I have taken the hive and tried to load it on my computer but the same error is occurring. These errors are extremely hard to try and pin point where the error is occurring.

I have taken a look at the hive to try and repair it, but so far no luck.

Often in these cases a repair install/fresh install of Windows is required. I will take a further look at the hive later on to see if I can spot something else.
 
AAAAAHHHH

This is bad news indeed. I was hoping not to have to go through a re-install.

Going through some other threads, i noticed that this has happened before. For example the [solved] thread "[h=1]windows 8 update error 800703F1[/h]posted by itzAltaf.
I know every problem is different, but i hope you can help me out. I'll keep my fingers crossed !

Unfortunately with these they are a massive hit and miss, sometimes the corruption can be early in the COMPONENTS and it can be spotted easily, other times it could be 100,000 lines in!
 
I do understand, but i am a bit stumped. What should i do?

Windows came preinstalled, and i dont have a disk. Not sure how to reinstall if that is what i need to do.

I can also "refresh" windows, which will kill all loaded apps. Would that solve the problem?

BTW, Just for fun, i tried to update again today. Windows found one file (a malicious software removal) and updated it. It still failed when trying to update the .net framework

ok, so i re-installed windows. Essentially took the laptop to factory settings and started to update again. In the process, i lost all data (backed up) and all installed software. So far, it appears that all updates are working normally.
I have not yet installed all the software needed, but i am hoping that no errors creep in. We'll see.

you would think re-installing windows would work. But...
I did manage to re-install software like Adobe and Office, but...
At the point of updating office2013 the computer also tryed to update Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and could not. Got an error 643.
Since then, i tried to install Material Studio and i got the famous error 1935, which is how this whole mess started.

I have uploaded the COMPONENTS and CBS files (link below). I dont know how to interpret these, but from what i see, i looks like a similar problem to the one before. Can you help me?
