  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Step 2:
Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.

Thank you PeterJ. Here is the copied text. I checked Windows Update and it seems to work, though there was nothing indicated that needed to be applied. Also, BTW, it was SFC /scannow that failed and led to my coping here. Should I rerun that? Here's the text:

SFC found some corrupt files and fixed them. I think things are ok, but I've attched the zipped cbs.log.
Do you think things are ok?
