Hey Guys,

I am writing as I forgot a command on my windows 8.1 system and can't locate it in a google search
I know in windows 8.1 "Windows Key + D" minimizes open windows, but there was a different command I have used in the past but no longer remember.

So if I had a bunch of programs open I was able to press a key or two and it would hide all open programs, even the icons on the taskbar for the open programs would hide.
If I pressed the key again all would show up again.
I am pretty sure it was something to do with the spacebar but really dont remember.

So my question is does anyone know the command to hide all open programs so that even the program tabs in the taskbar vanish?
I know it was not Windows Key + D but something else.

This is not a high priority but I have been trying for days and simply can't remember.

Please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Try Windows + Ctrl + D to create a virtual desktop and then use Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right arrows to switch between virtual desktops.

Windows + Ctrl + F4 will also close the current virtual desktop.

EDIT: Sorry, the above applies to Windows 10. I thought maybe 8.1 had the feature, but it appears not after doing some research. You can use virtual desktops in Windows 8.1 with Desktops 2.0, though.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the fast reply to my question.
I have tried all you suggested and it does minimize and maximize all the open programs but it still leaves the program icons on the taskbar.

I had used a command before that even hid the program icons in the taskbar.
I thought it was something and the spacebar but i cant remember.

Anyways thanks for the help.
Have a great day.
