Hi All, I am having trouble installing KB2919355 on my Windows 8.1 machine.

The CBS log files indicates the following :
Code:
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS INSTALL index: 2, phase: 2, result 13, inf: acpi.inf
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS Doqe: Recording result: 0x8007000d, for Inf: acpi.inf
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS DriverUpdateInstallUpdates failed [HRESULT = 0x8007000d - ERROR_INVALID_DATA]
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS Doqe: Failed installing driver updates [HRESULT = 0x8007000d - ERROR_INVALID_DATA]
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS Perf: Doqe: Install ended.
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS Failed installing driver updates [HRESULT = 0x8007000d - ERROR_INVALID_DATA]
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Error CBS Shtd: Failed while processing non-critical driver operations queue. [HRESULT = 0x8007000d - ERROR_INVALID_DATA]
2019-01-26 22:42:18, Info CBS Shtd: Rolling back KTM, because drivers failed.

Now I assume that acpi.inf is missing/corrupted from my system. I have checked my Driver manager and found no drivers with any yellow/red/gray icons. My drivers are also up to date.

EDIT :
SFC scan and DISM scan shows no issues.

Has anyone experience the same issue before?

Hi!

I think so. Please do the following:

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Try updates and if any fail, attach CBS.log.

Hi there,

Apologies for the late reply. I will run this test this week and update you.

For the meantime, do you perhaps have the following folder:
Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\acpi.inf_amd64_9bfd289b56d00b69

I think this is the one causing the issue as setupapi.dev log file shows that this particular driver has errors (it is also missing from the machine).

Hmmm. downloading the patch and installing it manually solves the problem. It is failing through Windows Update and I am not sure why.

Anyway, thanks for the assistance!
