Hi,

My Windows 8.1 home installation is uptodate, and virus free. Recently an application I use, got corrupted through one of their updates, and that caused a few PC crashes.
Soon after I experience problems starting up windows - not mbr related, but system not coming up cleanly.
sfc /scannow reports that several corrupted files could bot be fixed. CBS.log is a huge, unfriendly log.
Refresh PC couldn't do anything.
SFCfix fixed 1 corruption, but left 6 others, which couldn't fix and asked for human intervention.
These seem ominous corruptions, my PC is amd based and these seem to be processor specific files.
I can't find an option to upload the log, so I will just list it here:(
Any advice as to how to repair those files would be much appreciated.

Please close.
I was able to fix it using the instructions in this forum.
DISM /REPAIR /HEALTHY fixed it.
It's strange that SFCFix ran also DISM but was unable to fix it:(
Please consider updating SFCFix to run the same DISM command.
Also SFCFix should be quitable when running DISM, takes a long time, and before it has started repairing system files.
Same thing holds for preventing win from rebooting (Windows is reconfiguring for ever:()
