Hello!
I was merging my OS partion with another partition and the run was iterrupted. After fixing the partitions with chkdsk some files disappeared and the system no longer started. I used recovery cmd to run sfc and dism and managed to restore some of the files. However, not all of the components were restored. The system now starts, but it can only run 64bit apps. For 32bit apps it gives 0xc0000142 error. Please find the CBS.log and Dism.log attached.

Thank you in advance!

Hello and welcome,

We need to replace several files. This is just the start of it.
Do not replace any other files while we are working on your machine.

Follow the instructions below please.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download
    myjIXnC.png
SFCFix and move the executable to your desktop.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Hello! Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately I don't get any txt. I think SFCFix may be trying to start a 32bit process because if I just try to start SFCFix.exe with cmd I get the 0xc0000142 error.

If the file C:\SFCFix\CrashDumps\SFCFixCrashReport\SFCFixCrashReport.zip exists, attach it to your next reply or upload it to a file sharing site first and provide the downloadlink you get.
If not, do following:
FRST Scan:
  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

There is a hacktool present or remnants of it to use Windows and / or Office not legitimately.
It is against the rules to help people with an illegal operating system or other illegally used programs.
Hacktools can make your system slower and also less secure.
Do you agree that we continue to do a repair attempt for this computer that will also remove the hacktool ?

Yes, my laptop was bought with licensed Windows, so should be fine, though due to the damage the system currently cannot pick up the key from bios

Step 2:
Download the attachment Packages.zip and save the file on your desktop.
Extract the ZIP file to the default location.
When completed there should be 10 .CAT and 10 .MUM files in the folder C:\Users\Lenovo\Desktop\Packages. Is that correct ?

Okay, lets see the result of the fixes.

Restart the computer.
Open an elevated command prompt.
Copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each.

Code:
sfc /scannow
Wait for this to finish before you continue

Code:
copy %windir%\Logs\CBS\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Zip this file and attach the zipped cbs.txt to your next post.
