Windows 8.1 Check for Updates never ends

I have performed all the steps from the instructions and here are the results. Sfc scan returns about 40 corrupted files of which one was fixed using SFCFix.exe. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth returns error 0x80240021, i will attach the log for more information. I've also tried installing updates manually with no success. I will attach SfcFix and Dism log along with CBS folder.

Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.
SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Double-click SFCFix.exe to run the tool. A dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
On completion a log file (SFCFix.txt) will be opened. Copy and Paste its content into your next reply.

I didn't send the cbs.log immediately after scan finished, i left it overnight, i see it has some scan unrelated logging, sorry for that. Should i run scannow again and send it asap?

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

I just saw after scan that it doesnt provide logging in offline mode, and last night, during scan, internet was down. Here's the cbs log

It does support logging in offline mode. You just can't upload the log file without network access, please do the following now.

Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press Enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:3068708

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.
