Hi, I'm attempting to install KB3000850 and repeatedly it fails with a CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND 0x80092004 error in the CBS log.
I've run a DISM /cleanup-image with the Windows 8.1 Source and nothing is found or fixed, sfc /scannow shows no errors.

Here's the output from SFCFix.exe

Yeah, I've done that too, done a chkdsk /f . I'm pretty much at a loss here what's causing it. I've even uninstalled my AV software, KIS 2015 and it still craps out at the same location with 0x80092004 installing the update. DISM /cleanup-image finds nothing out of the ordinary, so I'm thinking how do I just reinstall the cryptography component or whatever is causing the grief?:banghead:

I finally gave up trying to fix this as a point fix. I did a Windows 8.1 Upgrade (downgrade) install and re-applied all of the windows updates. After that KB3000850 would install. It seems pretty unusual that as users we have
to go through this kind of grief from Microsoft, especially considering how SFC and DISM don't show any problems.

Anyway, thanks for the help. We can close this out.
