Windows 7 x86 COMPONENTS Corrupted

Hi,

I am having issues with Windows update and a bunch of other issues installed Visual C++ Runtime as well as NET Framework.

I am unable to run sfc /scannow. Also, ran sfcfix and came to conclusion that COMPONENTS hive is corrupted. In the registry, it's blank (Folder is there; but it's empty). I tried unloading & re-loading component hive into registry; same thing (blank).

I have attached a link to my COMPONENTS file. Can anyone tell me if I can repair this?

Hello, unfortunately, your COMPONENTS hive is corrupt beyond repair. Unless you have a backup, you will have to do a Repair install.
