Hi guys,

First congratulations on building up such a nice community.
The updates from August KB4512506 and KB4512514 won't install. I have tried installing them manually and ive tried to run the windows updates troubleshoot without success.
I made sure that the KB4490628, KB4474419 and KB3133977 are installed as per recomendation from Microsoft. I've run out of ideas so i ask help from the experts.

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for the kind words.

Please do the following:

FRST Registry Search
1. Click your Start button and type in cmd.
2.After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
3. Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt:

reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\COMPONENTS

4. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
5. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
6. Copy and paste KB4056894 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
7. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

Hi softwaremaniac,

Thank you for your time.

Im not able to run FRST64 because the antivirus stops it. Is there other way we could do this?

Thanks.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Try updates and attach CBS.log if any fail.

Thanks.

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and provide the link to the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

The logfile.PML is 11GB!!!! Attached is the cbs.log.

It takes the computer a whole day to fail the updates. I would like to give you all the information you need but its been difficult. One of these days i had a 400MB cbs.log.

Anyway i really appreciate your help.

Hi!

The log is incomplete. Please zip up the ProcMon Logfile and CBS folder and use a file sharing service to upload it for me. Then paste the links in here.
