Hi bruce1270
If you recall, I commenced this thread on November 19, 2018, and I first encountered the reboot problem on/around December 25, 2018 (see Post
#44). We were only able to 'move forward' again, in terms of trying to fix the WU issues, on January 29, 2019 when I managed to reboot into an image I had dated
October 17, 2018 (see Post
#56).
Since the recent repeat of a reboot failure (see Post
#200), and during your recent "absence" and mine, I started to think about possibly trying to revert to an image from an earlier date than that I reverted to in Post # 56 (ie an image dated earlier than October 17, 2018). As a result, on May 25, 2018, I tried reverting to an image dated
September 8, 2018 and this image booted successfully.
Much more importantly and as far as I can see at the moment, this September 8, 2018 image does
NOT appear to have any problems with WU. Indeed, I have now been able to successfully download and install ALL new Updates offered to me to date. These updates currently consist of the following KB's :
44999406, 4481252, 890830, 4499164, 4474419, 4490628, 4493132, 4505050 and 4499178
In order to "test" WU further, I am minded to await the June 'batch' of new Updates, and if these all successfully download and install, then thank you for all your patience and help etc and proceed to ask that you close this thread.
Alternatively, if you have any suggested TESTS that I could implement and that would more conclusively evidence that my WU issues no longer exist, then I would be glad to carry them out. Please let me know.
Thank You
