Hi. Thank you in advance for your help!
Windows 7 x64 Update KB4343900 fails repeatedly with error code 80073701, via both Windows automatic update and manual download. I've tried several other methods including Win7's inbuilt update repair tool, Microsoft's Fix Windows Update page which includes Windows Update Troubleshooter and renaming datacollection and catroot2 folders, and I've run adwcleaner.
It may be coincidental, but in case it's relevant I also received an error message that Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library 'requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way'. I've read another poster on this board with the same update problem had a similar error message.
I've followed steps #1-6 on your page "Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions". I disabled my avast antivirus shields while going through the steps.
sfc /scannow reports no integrity violations.
