Windows 7 updates failed errors KB4074598 and KB40888801

Hi.
Windows 7 attempts to install these updates then towards the end of install it fails, prompts for restart to revert the changes, during restart computer reverses changes and after an extended period of time (1/2 to 3/4 hr sometimes) finally allows me to log on. Thereafter I have to go through this every time that I start the computer.

I believe issue is similar to other users who have posted recently to this forum.

Your assistance to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

Windows 7 Service pack #1, 64bit.

Please execute the following...


System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
  • Download the System Update Readiness Tool (x64) and save it to some place, its a big download and eventually we need to run it several times, please keep the file
  • Run the tool. Its like an Update but it can take a long time to do the work. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running
  • Please attach to your post the log from the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Note:     If the file is too big please Zip it and upload the ZIP file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.ZIP, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

SFC scan
  • Please open up a Command Prompt Window as a Administrator, instructions for Windows 7 or Windows 8 and 8.1.
  • Inside the command prompt window type or copy & Paste the following command:
    sfc /scannow
Note: This may take some time to finish. Please report the result.
 
SFC completed successfully. Windows resource protection did not find any security violations.
 
Hi,

Force Windows to search for Updates, try to install only the ones related with Security and skip/hide all that have Preview... in the name, those are not needed.

In case of errors please post the update that failed and the error code, also share the new CBS.log

Two updates worked:
- 2018-05 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1 on Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB4099633)
- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - May 2018 (KB890830)

But still having issues:
