Hi! I have Windows 7 SP1 x64. I have tried to install: KB2864058, KB2847311, KB2884256 and it fails. System Update Readiness Tool log is in the attachment. Also sfc /scannow has following error message: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them". chkdsk c: /f /r - has no errors. Hope you can help me. Thanks!

- Please download the file, Packs.zip from my Dropbox -->here<--and save this to your Desktop.
- Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
- Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
- A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages
- Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
- Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages
- Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again
- When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:

I highly doubt you'll experience this error again in my opinion. The error is caused by file corruptions, which I repaired for you. Whilst extreme corruptions are normally caused by hardware failure, you had a fairly minor set of corruptions. This pretty much rules out hardware failure completely. This kind of corruption, in my opinion, is the result of software. Whilst I can't say exactly what, this is probably due to a bug, or some kind of software fault.
I can't be very descriptive, because to be quite honest, I can't say exactly what caused these corruptions. But I can say you are very unlikely to see them again. If you do, just let me know and we'll fix you up again. :)
