Hello, recently I built a PC and here are the specs:
RAM: 8.00 GB
Processor: AMD A6-6400K with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.90GHz
System type: 64-bit
I also have a GPU, but I can't remember what version, but it's a GTX, I believe.

When the PC finally got all of its parts ready, turned it on and started installing Windows 7. It worked perfectly, and there have been plenty of installations for Windows 7, also, I want to download to Win10 eventually, after this issue is done.

I downloaded them all, and then everytime I turn my PC on Windows Update pops up with "Restart your computer to install important updates" etc. etc., I saw on another thread someone who had the same issue, and got it fixed, just want to know if that's still possible, thank you ever so much for any help that can be given and I'll try to provide what is necessary, thank you!

Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named LiquidTension. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Hello,

If you wish to upgrade to Windows 10 now, we do not necessarily need to repair the current issues with your Windows 7 installation. We can go straight down the route of upgrading to Windows 10 if you wish. Alternatively, if you've yet to fully decide whether or not you wish to upgrade to Windows 10, we can repair the issues with your current Windows 7 installation, and the choice to upgrade can be made at a later time.

Please let me know your thoughts on the above, and how you wish to proceed.

I definitely want to get Win10, it's just I've tried to download it multiple times, and I am restricted as the update requires a restart, and the loop causes a constant restart. But yes, if it was possible to avoid this issue, then I will for sure. Thank you!

Hello,

Let me know how you get on with the following:

  • Please download the Media Creation Tool using the following link.
  • Before running the tool, perform a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/929135
  • Once in a clean boot environment, use the instructions above to upgrade to Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool.
