I have cleaned up most of my errors by running SURT, but am left with a weird issue still.
Running sfc /scannow fails with error windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.
Ran SFCFix, it tells me SURT total detected corruption count 3, everything else is good.
There was definitely some corruption in the COMPONENTS registry hive. I have a key (error found by looking at CBS.log):
GLOBALROOT/Device/HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy2/Windows/System32/config/COMPONENTS\DerivedData\VersionedIndex\6.1.7601.24383 (win7sp1_ldr_escrow.190215-1954)\ComponentFamilies\msil_smsvchost_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_none_983c345ed3df25b5\v!6.1.7601.2\733"
The key name is actually showing in regedt32 as "v!6.1.7601.2\733", which includes an illegal backslash. I cannot access/rename/delete/edit permissions for the key because of the illegal backslash. Any attempt to do anything with that key just results in an error message (file not found).
I have tried running regdelnull and it found nothing.
Any suggestions on how I can remove this key?
