Hello,

I am writing to ask for some help.
I have a Windows 7 SP1 64 bit system that had a couple crashes because of software issue.

I ran SFC /scannow multiple time after many restarts and there are errors that cant be fix.
It is not my system but my parents system and is only a few months old.
I searched CBS.log and there are several errors and I can't figure out how to repair them.
I was going to try to copy from one windows 7 machine to the other but was not sure if that was safe.
We do not have windows disk as it was oem version and I was stupid and forgot to make a restore disk on the system.

Can a restore disk from another windows 7 machine work to fix issues?
I have attached CBS.log in zip if needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Gren

Very good.

Let's check with the System Update Readiness Tool as well.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

Download and run the System Update Readiness Tool for your version of Windows here: System Update Readiness Tool

NOTE: If you aren't sure if your Windows installation is 32-bit or 64-bit, check here: How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system

This tool will take some time to complete - when it has finished, attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log with your reply.

Hello,

Thanks for the steps you just gave me I will be at other computer tonight so I will do steps then or on Saturday.

I do have one question for you thou.
Will any of the steps or running the tool effect any installed software on the system?
Some of the software has to be deactivated before it can be reinstalled so I just wanted to be sure nothing is effected.

Thanks in advance
Gren

Looks good. Please check for Windows Updates and install any that are offered.
If an update fails to install, zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log with your reply.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the help of fixing the system, I really appreciate it.

I am so impressed on how fast and helpful you are and were.

I have one or two more sub questions.
I am on disability so cash is tight but I want to give you a gift so here is my questions.
Do you have Steam program on PC?
If so do you have Defense Grid 2 or a game no longer offered called Windborne?

If you have Steam and dont have one of those games I can send you one.
Defense Grid 2 is excellent and Windborne is fun but childish and will never be completed but it is great for building things (buildings and structures.)

If you supply me your email address I can send you one from inside steam using steam gift option, but I need your email.

Please let me know.
Thanks again for the help.
