Hi there, I'm writing to ask some help to avoid a clean install of Windows 7.
I have already tried a Repair Install but in the last step it failed with an "Upgrade Failed" error. I have used a SP1 DVD, the original installation was a normal Win7 and the SP1 was added next, should I use a Win7 without SP1 even if the SP1 is now installed? The version was the same.
The main problem is Windows is not creating restore points, automatic or manual (with timeout error), I guess the problem started after I messed up things with installation/uninstallation of Acronis True Image (to try to fix the Windows Backup/Restore that was not working after installed Acronis but I don't now since when there was that problem, I tried to use Windows Backup/Restore to try to backup my windows account only), now I don't have Acronis anymore and I cleaned all the Acronis things with the Acronis CleanupTool.
I have already tried many workarounds found on internet but I didn't have luck.
I hope to find some expert to fix this mess! Thank you in advance :)
