Hello,

It seems that since I installed Windows Management Framework 5.1 (KB3191566) my Security Monthly Quality Updates have been failing. They appear to successfully install using Windows update, then on rebooting, it continues to update, and reports Update Failed, reverting changes.

I have run SFC /scannow several times, the first time it showed it fixed corruptions, but the update still fails. Now it shows no corruptions but still fails.

I have run SFCFix and the first time it took about 15 minutes, now it runs quickly with no found errors.

Attached are the CBS logs and SFCFix.txt file, along with a screenshot of my updates/status

Thanks for any assistance!!!

It looks like Oracle VM Virtual Box is installed, but isn't being used.

Just tried booting into Clean State, same result, update fails. :noidea:

Same result. It always makes it through the install when I'm logged in, but on the reboot at about 92% complete is when I get "Failure configuring Windows updates Reverting Changes..."

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
 5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

I'm getting this error; do you know which firewall port it's going through?
