Dear Sirs!

I have encountered problems with Windows 7 automatic updates.
KB4534310 installation repeatedly fails with 0x80073701 error. I have tried all the options Microsoft offers (including WindowsUpdate.diagcab and catroot2 removal) with no luck.
So i'm seeking help from Sysnative gurus.
Here is the required info:
CBS.zip is quite large and is available from my NAS: https://chugunium.synology.me:5001/sharing/Dh4ojVsrw

I have one more PC with Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64, it has absolutely no problem with automatic updates.
So i'm looking forward to any assistance from gurus.

What i have tried:
1. Tried a "direct update", i.e. manually download and install update package. Error persists.
2. Ran "sfc /scannow". No system integrity violations have been found.
3. Ran "Windows Update troubleshooter" (WindowsUpdate.diagcab, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027322/windows-update-troubleshooter) from Microsoft. Results are as follows:
Windows Update error 0x80070490: Not fixed;
Service registration missing or corrupt: Fixed;
Latest update installation problems: Fixed.
After that the problematic update still can NOT be installed.
4. "Reset" Windows Update system as described in the first reply here: windows update (i believe that "WU troubleshooter" does approximately the same). No luck.

While trying to fix WU issue i have found a couple of interesting articles from Microsoft captioned "How to fix errors that are found in the CheckSUR.log":
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...he-dism-or-system-update-readiness#manual fix
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2700601/how-to-fix-errors-found-in-the-checksur-log

Hello and welcome,

Attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

Hi, PeterJ!
Thanks for the prompt reply. Please see the attached CheckSUR.log. There are a LOT of errors inside.
As far as i understand from reading the MS articles, i'll have to manually download all 800+ missing packages...

Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.
