Been chasing a few different computer errors and crashes for a bit over a month, finally at the point where I'm ready to call for help. Recently been experiencing an APPCRASH error referencing Kernelbase.dll at fault. Google search brought me to these forums.
SFC scan produces a "found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" response. Downloaded and installed SURT for Windows 7 for x64 Systems (October 2014). Took a while to install/run, but produced the following log:
To prepare for the next step, I have downloaded (but not installed) a file for KB3088195 here. I poked around in the %SystemRoot%\winsxs\Manifests folder, found the amd64_e3ac...manifest file and found it to be blank. Unsure what it is related to. Extracting the .msu for KB3088195 as described here did not reveal a similarly-named manifest file. Also downloaded the 64-bit ComponentsScanner, but have not run it yet.
Current perceived issues/questions:
* Microsoft Update Catalog does NOT list Windows 7 in association with KB3088195 (seen here). Should I even have this installed?
* What file do I need to repair the manifest, or how do I find it?
* How do I run SURT again in the future? I see many guides on how to initially "install" it and how it automatically runs, but nothing about how to run it again later after installation.
