[SOLVED] Windows 7 Pro KB4516065 fails with error 80070002

Have a Windows 7 Pro computer. It would not install KB4516055 nor KB4474419. I ran Windows Update trouble shooter, SFC /scannow (which found and fixed some corruption) and ran SURT/DISM Scan. That allowed KB4474419 to install however KB4516065 still fails to install. I ran sfc /scannow again and no corruption was found. Ran SFCFIX

Hi!

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and provide the link to the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace.

When I say it fails to install what I meant that even after downloading KB4516065 and running it which said it installed ok upon rebooting the computer the update fails and is uninstalled. I have not tried install KB4516033 which is only the security patches from KB4516065.

KB4516655 and KB4474419 are both installed as well.

Sorry to say but the downloaded update KB4516065 from MS catalog failed to install. It was backed out upon rebooting the computer.
