Windows 7 Boot Manager Error 0x000000f

Hello,

I'm unable to get into Windows 7 on my Gateway PC and unable locate the Windows disc.

Status: 0x000000f

Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.

I made a bootable USB (formatted then used Yumi) with Hiren's Boot CD and changed the boot order to recognize the USB.

Upon restart w/USB in port, computer screen goes to Gateway window, then to dark screen with blinking cursor, and stays there.

Can someone provide some guidance to resolve this issue?

If you simply copied the files from a Hiren's CD to a stick, that won't work. You need an ISO. If it were me, I'd redo the stick.

Re do the stick and be sure you are using the latest version of Yumi from March 22

Thanks plodr! Hiren's on USB now working.

I'm not sure of next steps to fix the Windows 7 error (0xc000000f).

Can you or anyone else help on that front?

You'll have to wait for real help.
I've never fixed Windows 7. I make images and when one of our computers acts up, I restore an image.

Suggest you disconnect and reconnect hard drive data cable making sure ends are seated well.
Never used Hiren's either for your situation, but here is a link for some things, which may help.
