Nope. Still cant install Service Pack 1. All the other updates seems to work.
Accept i noticed that "AsusWsService.exe stopped working" appears upon starting up the computer.

I have a similar problem, I enclose my CBS.logView attachment CBS.zip
It seems WU identify my processor as AMD64 while it is an Intel i7

Re: 80073701 windows 7

I tried Ms Fixit, MUD, [FONT=arial, sans-serif]WASA[/FONT], SFC. Still getting WU error 80073801.

CBS directory is too large to upload even compressed.
So View attachment SFCFix.txt here is the SFCFix.txt

Please advise

Re: 80073701 windows 7

I didn't mention that all PCs on my network have ManageEngine Desktop Central Agent installed on, including this one suffering the problem.
ME-DCA enable remote updating of Windows. Nevertheless, no other PC has suffered any WU problems.
I tried uninstalling ME-DCA on this PC but still the error occurred again. So I reinstalled it.
ME-DCA is currently able to install windows updates from a local Server running ManageEngine Desktop Central.

Re: 80073701 windows 7

Does ME-DCA deploy images? or make sure that an image needs to be a certain way?

Can you please repeat the steps in post 8, run Windows update again (it may or may not fail) then upload a new CBS log?

Thanks

Re: 80073701 windows 7

It seems Desktop Central can deploy images (OS Deployment Tool | Centralized OS Deployment Software | Automate OS Deployment), but I used it only for patching Microsoft OS and supported thirdy-party apps.

Re: 80073701 windows 7

I am looking at CBS.log: all errors have the following form:

Code:
2014-10-29 23:16:31, Error                 CSI    00000024@2014/10/29:22:16:31.763 (F) d:\win7sp1_gdr\base\wcp\componentstore\csd_locking.cpp(324): Error STATUS_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING originated in function CCSDirectTransaction::LockComponent expression: (null)
[gle=0x80004005]

but there is no d:\win7sp1_gdr directory on my d: partition

Lets take a look at the COMPONENTS registry hive.

SFCFix Collect COMPONENTS
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
  3. On your Desktop, you should now see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  4. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  5. SFCFix will now begin to upload your CBS logfiles to our server.
  6. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  7. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

If all goes well, you should see that your logfiles have now been added to your thread.

Re: 80073701 windows 7

Something went wrong the attachment did not upload, I am getting a 404 error...

Can you please go the following location C:\Windows\System32\config and look for the following files:
-COMPONENTS
-Any other files that start with the word COMPONENTS
-Or any files that have a similar name to COMPONENTS (it could be spelt different, have a number, a symbol etc)
If you find any please create a folder on your desktop and copy and paste all these files into this folder.
Next can you please zip this folder and upload them for me to analyze? The file may be too big to attach to this post, please use either Dropbox or One Drive.
