Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Download the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link

  • Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  • Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  • Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

I am attaching the files requested. I have also upgraded to Windows 11 Pro (from Home).
Thanks for your eyes and thoughts on this.
Denis

Hi,

What kind of license did you buy to upgrade from Home to Pro?
Code:

In March 2023 i purchased my Lenovo laptop and windows 11 home was installed on the machine when i purchased it. Updates were fine until 22H2 which has repeatedly failed to install as described. On April 9th 2023 i purchased the Pro upgrade. The 22H2 update continues to fail to install. I am puzzled by the error message in the addition.txt file. I have emailed the company i where i purchased Pro to ask about the license. Still, the update issue precedes the Pro upgrade. Here is the company < Mod note: URL Removed >
I did have trouble upgrading my product key (my error and easily resolved) and wondered if that is the source of the error message but just ran Farbar again and the additions txt still lists the error. Could it have been related to Home? Thanks for your thoughts....d

Hi,

The license for Windows 11 Pro you have purchased is not genuine, this means that this (cheap / illegal) OEM license does not belong to this system. Such OEM licenses form non-Microsoft sites could be blacklisted as well, which resulting in activation issues.

I would suggest to restore this system to Windows 11 Home with the assigned (digital) license delivered by Lenovo.

P.s. I have removed the link to the Company, because it does not sell official (legitimate) licences for Windows and other Microsoft products.

The vendor's response to your suggestion that my Windows Pro is not genuine.

Hi Denis ,
Thank you for your question.
Our products are original and legit. We make sure to only get them from licensed distributors. Moreover, our website is guaranteed by Microsoft Deutschland GmbH.
I hope this clears your doubt.
Please feel free to contact us anytime.

Regardless of who is correct, the issue with 22H2 preceded my install of Win 11PRO.
I think something else is going on.
Denis

Hi,

This is not exactly true, these licenses are likely volume licenses and therefore they are in violation with the license agreement! So these license keys may look legit, but they are not.

This does not mean your Windows 11 (Pro) is genuine now for this system.

My advise would be to reinstall Windows 11 Home - the digital license that belongs to this system will be reactivated again.

I understand that you would like help to solve this problem, but with illegal licenses we don't provide any assitance.

Please note:
Microsoft has the ability to deactivate such keys in bulk, so in the future you may run into the same problems again. So therefore my advise to reinstall Windows 11 Home with the official (digital) license for this system.
