As far as I can tell, the installer is trying to access package Microsoft-OSClient-Layer-Data-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.22621.232 and then complains about a missing assembly file. I tried to find this package manually but get zero results in google when I search for it.

The usual fix for error 0x80073701 is running a system file check, restoring the component catalog with DISM, and repairing windows update. I tried all that. Another fix is to reinstall Windows from the ISO, but I can't do that because I'm running a prerelease version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi, I no longer need help with this. I re-installed Windows 11 with installation media and that fixed the problem.
