I tried updating for some weeks already, getting the same error code: 0x800f0922. The download and preparation works fine, but after rebooting it always stops at 98% and does an automatic roll-back (rebooting twice).
Updates that don't require a reboot are installing without a problem (in my case, the .NET updates and defender updates).

I followed the instructions in the forum and none of the steps detected any corruption: Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions

Hi,

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Right-click the start button and choose Run, type optionalfeatures.exe and press enter.
Which .NET components are selected?

Please unckeck ASP.NET 4.8 and press OK, after the restart try to update Windows and let me know the result.

When I try to disable ASP.NET 4.8, I get this error message. I tried it again after a reboot, but the message was the same.

Please open the command prompt and run the following command. Attach services.txt to your next post.

Code:
WMIC SERVICE GET caption, name, startmode, state > "%userprofile%\desktop\services.txt"

Download the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link

  • Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  • Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  • Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Is this version of Windows 11 legal? In the logfiles I've noticed the following IFEO entry's, these are used by KMSPico (AutoKMS) among others..

Code:
IFEO\osppsvc.exe: [VerifierDlls] SppExtComObjHook.dll
IFEO\SppExtComObj.exe: [VerifierDlls] SppExtComObjHook.dll

I have bought a Windows 10 Pro key a few years ago for this PC, and it works for 11 too. However, for privacy reasons (e.g. setting telemetry level 0) I have to use Enterprise instead. As you cannot buy Enterprise as an individual person, I have to use KMS emulation instead.

Hi,

Sorry, but we don't provide any assistance when Windows is illegally activated. However, I would advise you to legalize the Windows installation, particularly in order to prevent other problems in the future. Although you have a license for Windows 10 Pro, the KMS (MAK) license for Windows 11 Enterprise is not in use according to the License Agreement of Microsoft. As you pointed out, you cannot buy the Enterprise licenses as an individual person. But only as part of a business or educational organisation.

So you have the following options:
1. Return to Windows 10/11 Pro with the license key you've bought. (If it not used on another system).
2. Purchase a new license (retail) for this system, so you can reactivate the system according to the License Agreement.
