Windows update KB5030211 fails to download with the error code 0x800700c1.

My machine runs Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x64 (10.0.19045.3324)

Things I've tried are:
1. chkdsk: no errors found
2. sfc /scannow: returns "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service".
3. dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth: returns "Error: 193 %1 is not a valid Win32 application".
4. Also tried to do an upgrade repair with the Media Creation Tool which results in a failed installation before it finishes.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download
56f31e53c97da-SFCFix.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Hi again.

After finishing step 1, Windows has restarted and after booting has showed a blue screen with message "Cleaning". It has finished and I was able to enter into Windows normally.

Step 2 has finished with "100%. The operation completed correctly".

At Windows Update, clicking on "Seek updates" says "Everything is updated". The KB5030211 update has disapperared from the list of updates.

I'd like to think all is ok again.

Anyway, thanks a lot.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to hear the system is up-to-date and SFC and DISM working fine now.
I'll mark this thread as solved.
