Hi,

I followed all the instructions in Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions and SFCFix doesn't find any problems (anymore) - "No corruptions have been detected on this computer.",
still Windows Updater will not successfully install KB4532693.

The progress indicator slowly goes up to "Installing - 44%", then jumps to 100%, and then the error 0x80073701 is shown. I tried this about 10 times over several days, did sfc ... and dism ... several times, to no avail.
This happens on Windows10 Pro x64, 1909, build 18363.535, running in a VirtualBox VM.

This is the contents of the CBS log folder:
CBS.zip

2020-02-23 16:16:27, Error CSI 000000a1 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING) #2220299# from Windows::ServicingAPI::CCSITransaction::ICSITransaction_PinDeployment(Flags = 0, a = Microsoft-Windows-EnterpriseClientSync-Host-Opt-Deployment, version 10.0.18362.1, arch amd64, nonSxS, pkt {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, cb = (null), s = (null), rid = 'Microsoft-Windows-EnterpriseClientSync-Host-Opt-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.18362.1.f73f5bd9688252d4b1c932dddb4fdbf6', rah = (null), manpath = (null), catpath = (null), ed = 0, disp = 0)[gle=0x80073701]

(and for completeness, this is the output of SFCFix:

Hi!

The best way is to do an In-Place upgrade:

  1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
  2. Accept the License Agreement
  3. Download the ISO file to your desktop.
  4. Double-click on the ISO and then run the setup to try and upgrade your machine.

  • Thanks
