I have one desktop and two laptop computers. All three computers were Windows version 10.0.18363.418. Windows Update offered KB4530684. All three failed to install the update, returning error 0x800f0982. I used Microsoft's Media Creation Tool on each computer to perform an In-Place Upgrade. The laptops upgraded successfully and I was able to install KB4530684 without error. The laptops are now Windows version 10.0.18363.535. The desktop refused to allow an In-Place Upgrade (keep files and apps option not selectable). I have tried many recommended fixes (delete SoftwareDistribution files, etc.) but nothing cured the problem. DISM, SFC, and SFCFix find no problems. The desktop remains Windows version 10.0.18363.418. I would like to be able to do an In-Place Upgrade (if possible) and install the KB4530684 update. Any help received for solving my problem will be greatly appreciated.
