Well... I'm among those not so lucky people that have problems to upgrade/update to latest 1809 version of Windows 10.

When update downloads and install, it asks for a restart and after I restart the pc, it restarts several times and displays notification that says : "Undoing changes made to your computer"

I have run disk cleanup, uninstall BitDefender antivirus program, run windows update troubleshooter who was fixed something, try to upgrade from Windows 10 update assistant and always the same!

Hey, man! Welcome to Sysnative!

Let's start with the basics:

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Before I start following your instructions...

Just a couple of minutes ago I was trying to make bootable USB with the latest version of windows thru "MediaCreationTool1809" and this happened (picture)... this is crazy!!!

Let's go step by step. When the time comes, I'll let you know what to do. First, let's ensure there are no obvious problems in the components store by running the command I requested.

Can I post the whole CBS.log here bcz it's to big to upload to this forum?

Please run another SFC scan to confirm that the repairs were indeed successful. SFC should report No integrity violations.

As for the log, please zip it up and attach it (after the fresh scan).

Excellent!

Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

BIOS is in original state, never updated, not have courage for this :o1

We will try to avoid it, but I have had cases where it was the only thing that helped.

Please attach: C:\Windows\Inf\setupapi.dev.log.
Did you mean: "setupact.log"???

I can not find "setupapi.dev.log." !!!
