Hi, i've got a problem with updating to Windows 10. I got Windows 7 Professional. Until now I did the fixes recommended by Microsoft (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/957310) but it didn't solve the issue. If I run the Windows Update troubleshooter it tells me that it fixed "Service registration is missing or corrupt" but the updates still don't work and if I run it again after a reboot it says the same thing again. Here's a screenshot:
Can you try posting this question in a new thread over in our SysNative "Windows Update" forum? The techs in that forum have some special tools and training for the type of situation you are describing: especially if you tried the sfc /scannow procedure and received the message that SFC "found but could not fix corruptions", and if you received errors trying to restore your system image to health using the DISM tool. It's a fairly busy forum over there, but they are quite good (and successful) at fixing Windows Update issues. Here's a link to their posting instructions https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...posting-instructions-post35484.html#post35484
If you are in a hurry, and want to try for "quick relief" ... you do have the option to backup all your files (you could also make a system image backup if desired) ... download Windows 10 directly from Microsoft, and try a "clean install". If you don't have that many programs to install, it doesn't take much more time than an upgrade install. You'd enter the product key for your Windows 7 during the install. A clean install means what it says... you erase your hard drive (after making your backups first!) ... and then install Windows 10. Let us know if you need more info on that. If you head over to the Windows Update forum: you'll be in good hands, and have a good chance of a successful upgrade.
