Hi, Thanks in advance for the help.

I've had an issue for a while now which prevents any large windows update package from completing. Windows Feature updates cannot install but Quality Updates will. That's why I'm still running 19043.1348.

Running SFC and DISM it looks like the hash comes back wrong for every package windows wants to update, and it concludes the package repository is corrupted. I'm not sure if that's the case or if its somehow hashing things incorrectly. I've tried running DISM offline using a different windows install but have run into the same issue. The error that keeps repeating is [HRESULT = 0x800f0900 - CBS_E_XML_PARSER_FAILURE]. I've tried every fix to this I've seen online, mostly restarting the Windows update components and re-registering some DLLs.

For a long time SFC wouldn't start at all, and DISM and SFCFix wouldn't make much progress. From the CBS Logs it seemed like SFC needed wrpint.dll which I downloaded from dllme.com and put in the Win32 folder. SFC now runs through (cannot fix the error though, see logs below) but SFCFix crashes immediately (see logs). Let me know if I should revert this or if there is a fix to SFCFix.

Hoping to get this fixed and get windows updated, obviously there's a security issue running an old version. Note that I have the Russian language pack installed which I know can complicate finding the correct packages, I'm happy to delete/uninstall this if there's a way to do that.

Thanks for your help, Please see logs below:

  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Fantastic, everything seems to be working now. Windows was able to update and Dism and SFC both run fine. Thank you so much. I've attached the logs/components in case there's anything else you would recommend.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to hear the latest fix has solved the issues with DISM and Windows Update..
The COMPONENTS hive looks good, so if everything is up and running we can mark this thread as solved... (y)
