This system is running 20H2 (19042.1237) and will not install patches.

sfc /scannow is unable to fix errors
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth runs in about 3 seconds and says it was successful

sfcfix fails to run with error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

I removed and reinstalled the C++ Redis installs but that didn't help the SFCfix program.

I've attached the cbs folder.

Any help is appreciated and I'll provide more info as requested.

Following up on this to see if there is something we can do without reinstalling.

Hello Teralax,

Apologies that it has taken a while before anyone has responded.

In your first post you mention that SFC indicates that your Side by Side configuration is incorrect. It would be worth checking this portion of the registry. Please do the following making sure to change the file type in step 5 so that I can have a look at the registry entries.

Export SideBySide
  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide
  4. Once selected, click File > Export....
  5. Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (.)
  6. Name this file SxS (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.

Once done please upload this file via Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace.

Thanks for the response but I've got this system coming back for a reimage now. I'll close it.
