Hey All,

It's been a while since I encountered any issues when using Windows Update - but there we are!

Also, the issue I'm suddenly seeing is probably very reminiscent of a very similar one I encountered before couple of years ago:

[SOLVED] - Windows 10 - Updates since KB4512508 (Aug CU) end up with 0xe0000100

Cut the long story short, I am enclosing CBS.log along setupapi.dev.log and a response to
Code:
Dism /online /Get-Drivers
in RAR archive below.

Things that may have had an impact here:

1. 21H2 enablement package that I installed in Oct (now removed, but to the same result)
2. Removal of Logitech keyboard drivers (MX5500) in Oct as that was replaced with Craft.

Any ideas appreciated. Meanwhile will study the other thread to recall what was the root cause and how to troubleshoot, and repair it.

Well, resolved. I'm quite grateful that I encountered this issue before - and got great support on this site (as per the other thread I linked above).

The culprit this time - as seen in CBS.log - was empty (?) microsoft_bluetooth_hfp.inf file within C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\microsoft_bluetooth_hfp.inf_amd64_9effd93a75bc489e that must have been written by Windows Update when October CU (KB5006670) was installed on my PC on 13/10. Date & time of files in this very folder definitely confirm that this was the case.

I entirely fail to understand why and how this is even possible - especially as I moved on since 2019 and my OS lives on a new, bigger SSD (via clone) - but will leave such considerations aside.

Needless to say I'm now up to date and entirely sorted:

Code:

No component store corruption detected.
The operation completed successfully.

Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /verifyonly

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I therefore mark this thread as resolved and leave for posterity.
