Hi there,
After many attempts to resolve issues with BrianDrab in Windows Update's forum, he suggested me to post an inquiry in this forum.

OK, your logs are clean. At this point it's not a Windows Update/Servicing issue and more of a software/hardware issue. What I would suggest is that you post an inquiry in our Windows 10 forum where the experts there have much more knowledge on software/hardware than many of us here in the Windows Update forum.

They may have even seen this or have a resolution for it. I am sorry we couldn't help you further in this forum.

You can see the history thread here : https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/16914-windows-10-issue-error-0x800f081f.html Make sure to read all the Thread !!!

Can youn help me, please ?

Thanks,

GensoD.

Hi GensoD. Sorry you are having so many issues and sadly I am not sure I will offer any hope either :(. The fact you already re-installed W10 trying to fix this and it didn't help is not encouraging.

I do have a couple observations. In post #12 in your previous thread, in your second screen shot you said there are missing options. There aren't any missing options where your arrow is pointing - that is just a space and I have it too. But above Change your account type, I have "Change your account name". And on the left side, under Manage your credentials, I also have Create a password reset disk and Manage your file encryption certificates (but I think the encryption certs is for W10 Pro only). So it does seem you are missing some things but I don't know why.

I am able to click on that "Make changes to my account in PC settings" and it pulls up my "Account Settings" page - the same page I get to through Settings > Accounts. So to that, if you click on Settings > Accounts do you get to your "Account Settings" page?

Are you using a Microsoft or local account? I use local and I get to the same page. Not sure that would make a difference though.

Last of all, I upgraded Win7 to Win10 (knowing that I upgraded Vista to Win7 few years ago, no issues)
This gives me some concerns about the compatibility of your hardware if it is from Vista days. Were you initially offered W10 through Windows Update? Have you visited your hardware websites to ensure W10 drivers are available for all?

Hi,

Yes, it's a local account.
I verified the compatibility online before installing Win10, and it was ok.

The thing is that i tried to creat a new account before I asked any help in the Sysnative forum. The fact is that it succeded (no task bar, cortana and start menu's problem, Windows store as well). And, don't ask me why, i erased it because I should have re-install all the softwares... A big mistake I've done.
And after all the steps I did with BrianDrab's support, I am unable to creat a new account without this bluescreen appeared (well, i created it with command prompt, it the only way for me, and when i click on the new account screen, this blue screen appears) :

bluescreen.jpg (sorry for the wrong direction of this capture)

Any idea ?

Thx,
GensoD

Would you please provide us some information about your hardware - PC or motherboard make and model, and the graphics solution you are using. Do you know if your BIOS is up to date?

It seems odd that you were able to create a new account with no problems, and now cannot.

If me, I would probably reset the BIOS, set date and time and attempt to install Windows again from scratch with a fresh and full format of the drive - even if this means starting over with W7, verifying if all works well, then waiting for the computer to upgrade to W10 through WU.

You can still rollback to Windows 7 if you want to, but if you want to continue using Windows 10, we can try to fix some of the issues, but for these we need more information. First of all, we need the specs of your computer, and for that we will use Speccy

Download Speccy here
This is a portable version of Speccy because the installer for Speccy bundles a lot of additional programs

Open it
When you will open the program, look at the bottom-left corner for the loading circle, and wait for it to finish so that it can analyze your system

Now, go to File > Publish Snapshot...

It will ask you to proceed, so click Yes

Now post the link in your next reply

Now, lets use MiniToolBox to get more information about some of your issues:

3Al62Pm.pngMiniToolBox

Download MiniToolBox and move the executable file to your Desktop
Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select Spcusrh.pngRun as Administrator
Check the following options:

  • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices - Only Problems

Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete
Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply

Once you upgrade to Windows 10, it registers your computer's hardware to the Microsoft server so you do not have to start from Windows 7 or 8, and in the installer, it will ask you to use your product key, but there is a skip button, and it will automatically authenticate your computer and activate Windows.

We need to transfer all the data of the pervious user account profile to the new user account profile

Open Command Prompt as Administrator by

Pressing Windows + X
Click on Command Prompt (Admin) It might be different because of the French language pack.
If a User Account Control warning comes warning you that Command Prompt wants to make changes to your PC, or in French, Voulez-vous autoriser le programme suivant a apporter des modifications a cet ordinateur, click Yes, or in French, Qui

Now, copy and paste this:

Code:
net user administrator /active:yes

(Tell me if running this command gives an error so we can work on an alternative way to do this)

Now, restart your computer

You should see the hidden Administrator account. Here, create a new account (if it is a Microsoft account, then there will be one more thing to do)

Now for these instructions below, I don't have the French instructions with me so you will have to figure these things to French on your own :(

Open File Explorer (previously known as Windows Explorer)
Go to View tab, and click on Options

Click the View tab, and then checkmark Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

Clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, click Yes/Qui to confirm, and then click OK.

Locate the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where Old_Username is the name of the profile you want to copy files from.

Select all of the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

  • Ntuser.dat
  • Ntuser.dat.log
  • Ntuser.ini

Copy these files

Locate the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where New_Username is the name of the new user name you created.
Paste these files

Log off, and then log back on as the new user.

If everything is working properly now, and all the files are still there, delete the old user profile

Hi there,

Well, an issue, I had not before (saying before all the steps I did with the BrianDrab's help), appeared when the Administrator's profile is loading to the desktop.

a warning window saying (my self-translation from french) :

Shell infrastrucutre host has failed (to work).
An issue is to the origin of the program's malfunction.
Close the program.

and an other warning windows appears :

Critical error : The start menu and Cortana don't work. We will attempt to resolve the issue
(problem) during next connexion.

and to finish an other saying :

Disconnect now

C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop

HELP ! :banghead:

GensoD.

It is designed to be this; to load the minimum things needed, so some things do not start. This is normal, to prevent damage to the hidden Administrator profile.

If you are done with the instructions above, and everything seems to be working, disable the Administrator account (it is a security hazard to leave it on after you have used it) by
Code:
net user administrator /active:yes

Hi there !

So,
I created a new account from the Administrator's account (despite the alert windows I showed you in the previous message) with command prompt.
And when I open the new account, I have (again and again...) this blue screen alert I posted previously.
such as:

bluescreen.jpg (sorry, I can't turn this pic in the right way)

This screen appears since I did all the steps with BrianDrab's help. Maybe due from his own SFCfix.rar correction...

So, I can't do all these steps (I could do it before all the things I did with BrianDrab, knowing I do not blame him ;))
such as:

I'm desperate... :thud:

GensoD (I know there is a way to fix this, but what... That is the question)

With these issues, I suggest that you rollback to Windows 7 and wait for a few months before upgrading again (Now that you have upgraded, Windows sends a "hash" of your system, so you can install without a product key and will still be activated :D)

To rollback:

Go to Start
Click on Settings
Go to Update & Security
Then, go to Recovery
Click on Rollback on Go back to Windows 7

These options might be in French language (sorry I can not find French instructions to show on microsoft.com)

For now, stay with Windows 7 and wait for a big update to Windows 10, and then upgrade using the MediaCreationTool

Alright, so lets work on another way to fix this:

Press Windows + R
Type Msconfig and press enter
Go over to Boot tab, and checkmark Safe Mode

Click Apply, and if it asks to restart click yes, otherwise manually restart the computer

Now, in Safe Mode, the Desktop should be black background if it is in Safe Mode. Here try to see if you can recreate some of the issues.

I unfortunatly can't go back to Win 7 'cause I exceeded the limit date...
FTR, that date limit ONLY means you cannot use the automated process to roll back to W7. After 30 days, the files necessary to roll back are automatically deleted - much in part, because they are huge and some folks need the disk space.

But after 30 days, you can still re-install Windows 7 from scratch using your original Windows 7 installation disk, or your Windows 7 backup/recovery/image disks you [hopefully] made while you were still using W7. Then you can start the "free" W10 upgrade process all over again. You have until July 29, 2016 to take advantage of this free W10 upgrade offer.

Well, once you upgrade, Windows registers your computer so you can reinstall Windows 10 anytime after you upgrade for free.

Yes, once you have "successfully" upgraded. But that's part of the problem here. Genso has had problems with W10 from the start. But my point really was addressing his concerns about going back to W7. Just because the 30 days has lapsed he still can.

Hey guys,

well, I decided to re-initialized Windows 10, meaning that all the softwares are no more installed.
Hurrah ! No more issues.
Now, i'll be very carefull when I will install these softwares.
Despite the fact that my drivers'usb don't work since the re-initialization...
