[SOLVED] Windows 10 Issues - DISM Error 0x800f081f

REPOSTING FROM WINDOWS 10 FORUM - It looks like this might get better results over here...

Hello,

My computer has been running very slow for the last couple of days and keeps having errors around Windows components (start button doesn't respond, for example). After googling the issue, here are the following troubleshooting steps I tried:

1. Ran sfc /scannow:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix someof them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

2. Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Result:

Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.

3. I had done the free upgrade from Windows 8.1, so I used Wim Converter to convert my .esd file to a .wim file and then tried again, this time specifying the source.

Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:C:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

4. Downloaded SFCFix and ran it

I ran sfc /scannow again after the fix.

Result:

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Then I tried to run dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth, and got a new error (0x80010108).

The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.
An error occurred closing a servicing component in the image.

OK, I waited a couple of hours and tried again and this time both the /scanhealth and /restorehealth functions completed successfully. After restarting my computer, the start button appears to be responding appropriately again, so hopefully my issue is resolved.
