After a recent Windows update; I think I've narrowed it down to cumulative update for Windows 10 Next (10.0.19025.1052) (KB4531955) Also, I am on the Insider Preview on this machine.

I noticed my internet icon looked like what you see in the attached pic.

It said, no internet access yet I could browse the internet just fine. I went straight to the Feedback Hub but could not submit feedback as Feedback Hub said I had no internet. I received the same error trying to use Microsoft Store. I had thought I'd fixed this by re-installing my ethernet adapter but a day later (reboot) it came back. SO, I went researching and found a fix.

Explanation of what's happening - Appendix H: Network Connectivity Status Indicator and Resulting Internet Communication in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

The fix for me:

run regedit
and go to this key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet]

then look at the key named

"EnableActiveProbing"

look for this value, if is 0 make it 1 and reboot

If it is 1 change to 0, reboot then change to 1 and reboot

Or you can go to your ethernet adapter and disable it and re-enable it as I did.

I implore everyone to use the Feedback Hub, they are listening.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your solution as it very likely may help someone else - much appreciated.

I just checked my Registry and do not have a servive named NlaSvc in my Windows 8.1 installation.

Regards. . .

p.s. Mice avatar!

It took me a while to figure it out as I couldn't find anything on the internet about it. I had to word my search syntax "just right" to find what I found.

I do hope it helps others in the future. I also copied to BC.

The avatar? Yep, one of my favorite shows and actor.

And I thank you, mightily, for reinforcing this. I have noticed that "they are listening" for some time now, though action is not necessarily either as fast as I'd hope or in the exact direction I'd like, but that's just the nature of the beast.

I work extensively with folks who are blind or visually impaired and issues surrounding accessibility come up with some frequency, even though Microsoft has made Windows 10 remarkably accessible from the start, and Narrator is becoming a real force to be reckoned with as far as screen readers go. The best and fastest way to communicate these is via the Feedback Hub, and it's worth checking to see if your issue has been previously reported and upvote that report and add a comment rather than starting a new one.

Brian, you are actually the one who made me start using the Feedback Hub through your encouragement at BC. I have been using it ever since and researching aspects of it as well.

I like your avatar too. Definitely one of my favorite TV shows of all time (Dallas was #1) and of course the actor as well.

But "Dallas" and J. R. Ewing beat out "The Sopranos" and Tony Soprano slightly in my opinion.

The Sopranos did quite a bit of filming not too far from where I live at the New Jersey Shore.

The area The Sopranos did local filming at the beach/shore area was Long Branch, NJ.

But in the show, Tony and family lived further north -- more towards New York City.

Dallas hahaha, now you're telling your age. I watched Dallas with my grandparents. They never missed it. I even had the "Who Shot J.R.?" t-shirt

BTW, you can have the Soprano's house for $3.4 Million.... Tony Soprano's Iconic New Jersey House Lists For $3.4 Million

I was in high school for "Who shot JR?"

I never liked or watched Dallas at first - too busy with life and school.

After college, I caught in re-runs and began watching in earnest.

The Sopranos - I watched since day 1.

Ever see this video - The Real-life Sopranos?

I have seen this video. I started The Soprano's at day 1 as well. Now, I've watched it about 4 times. I've been aggravating my wife about starting it again.
