Windows 10 Folder Sharing Problems

I have a brand new system, and I'm currently still using my old system. I have the new computer connected to the router, and Windows 10 is really getting under my skin. It's fighting me every single step of the way, with folder sharing. Sometimes it will either detect the folder, or sometimes it doesn't... I would have the first part of the Network pasted in notepad. I copy and paste, and add the folder.. Windows claims it can't find it.. I copy the exact path over, and then paste it. Then windows magically finds it.. I've seen this before, where you either need to copy and paste something, or manually type it out or it wont work, despite being correct. Example "\\DESKTOP-R9G7QJ7\My folder Backup 5 is the network path. I will copy and paste everything up to the My Folder Backup 5.. I type that part in manually. Nope! Windows 10 says it's can't find the folder.. Sometimes Windows will see the shared folder, but refuses me access. Checking all my settings and it's correct. It was randomly working with some folders and some it wouldn't...

I could Just remove the drive and plug it into the new system, but I figured networking would be less hassle.

In the end I gave up fighting Windows 10 and made a Transfer Folder inside a Folder that windows was fine with. However, it decided that it had problems with some of those subfolders and wouldn't let me transfer them. I had to move all the files out of the folder, into a new folder. Only then would it let me. One PC is Windows 10 Home, and the other Windows 10 Pro. Not sure if that matters any...

I can post full system specs of both systems if needed.

Hi,

To avoid problems like that the first folder on the shared path should not contain any spaces and I would also use only a max of 8 characters for the share name.

I know that presently Windows let you use bigger names with spaces, etc. and the limits I use are from the old file sharing protocols but in fact they can help avoid troubles in several cases...
