Windows 10 can't update - The configuration registry database is corrupt - 0x800703f1

Hi,

I have a laptop I've not used for a year or so that has lots of pending updates, but is unable to install any of them with error 0x800703f1. I think it's related to Nvidia drivers (940mx) and I've been unable to install them manually. I've tried doing an in place install of windows and mounting the windows 10 iso for an ugrade but both have failed.

I've seen quite a few similar posts on here from google searches with user specific fixes so hoping there is something similar that can solve my issue!

I'm not sure what I can provide to help but am all ears - TIA
 
I should have added, I've run

- sfc /scannow and got 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations'
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth which completed successfully
- SFCFix, which failed on stage 1 of 6 ('Failed on server'), completed the scan with two warnings (both 'Failed to create zip file with errno 2') but did not detect any corruptions. Here are the logs:
